Sven Noben

Sven Noben is MA in New Media. He graduated cum laude at the University of Arts and Design Helsinki in Finland. During his whole study at the university he focussed on the integration of sign languages in new media. It came thus to no surprise he wrote his entire final thesis about sign language media, which is currently for sale on Lulu.com

During childhood, Sven was yet intrigued by science and design. In as early as 1987, then aged 12, Sven would already write his first software on a Commodore 64, draw images on the first Apple Macintosh, and develop pictures in a self-made darkroom.
Sven, born deaf to a middleclass family, was endlessly inspired by the knowledge and skills of his parents. His father is a filmmaker and photographer, his mother a devoted school principal.

During his adulthood, Sven has been working as a web developer, a robotic engineer, a teacher in deaf culture and as an academic research assistant in sign linguistics.

All his skills and interests emerge nicely in the Signfuse company, which he founded in november 2006 in Finland. In 2009 Sven moved his business to its current location, in Belgium, in the wonderful building of the design center of Antwerp.
